WANT TO JOIN IN?
There are lots of ways you can participate;
* You can join us at one of the island sessions where you can video tape, write or hand in a completed story and enjoy a complimentary meal (to the first 100 participants);
Feb 27 - 5pm to 8pm at Collin's Hall
April 17 - 11am to 12:30pm at BIC's Gym
June 3 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Legion
June 29 - Noon to 4pm at the BIC's Playground - Summer BBQ
* You can go to the Share Your Story Page on this website and make a submission there; or
* You can write your story and mail it to Stories of Bowen RR1 U64.
(Please note - hand written stories should not be more than 3 pages or 1500 words in length.)
PLEASE REMEMBER WHEN SHARING YOUR STORY!
To make sure your story does not include any language that would be considered expletive or vulgar i.e. swear words. We want the video documentary and EBook to best respect and represent the community of Bowen and the incredible people who make Bowen so special. To limit any potential misinterpretations we will screen all submissions before publishing them. If we feel there is a concern or we have a question we will contact the author for clarity and/or possible editing if necessary.
To make sure you give us your informed consent / permission to use your story, photo or voice recording in the development of a video documentary and / or online EBook if you want your material to be included. We will only use material provided in the video documentary and EBook where we have been given consent / permission to do so.
To not use anyone’s full name or photo(s) when sharing your story unless you have written permission from them to so. We do not want to upset anyone or have to exclude your story because we did not have everyone's consent / permission. We need to make sure only those people who consent to having their information; photos and/or recordings involved in the project are honored.

If you would like to do more than share your story and contribute some of your time and talent helping this project along, we would love to hear from you. We are always interested having more people involved and we have several areas where we could use some support - interviewing, filming, editing, preparing and helping to serve meals etc. Give a call or drop an email to either Sarah Haxby - SHaxby@sd45.bc.ca - 9337 or Yvonne McSkimming - ymuzak@telus.net - 604 726 5277. We would love to have you onboard.
